This is a really top-heavy draft. Ben Simmons (1st), Brandon Ingram (2nd), Jaylen Brown (3rd) have all lived up to their top-3 selection which is awesome and incredibly rare. However, after these guys, the only all-star caliber players are Pascal Siakam (27th) and Jamal Murray (7th).
There are some solid role players to come out of this draft such as Kris Dunn (5th), Buddy Hield (6th) Jakob Poeltl (9th), Domantas Sabonis (11th), Taurean Prince (12th), Caris LeVert (20th), Dejounte Murray (29th) and Malcolm Brogdon (36th). However, this is far from the number of solid role players that come out of an average draft.
Not to mention some of the misses are pretty terrible such as Dragan Bender (4th), Marquese Chriss (8th), Wade Baldwin (17th), Henry Ellenson (18th) and Brice Johnson (25th).
The best value picks in this draft were definitely Pascal Siakam at 27 who looks like a potential MVP candidate and Malcolm Brogdon at 36 who could vie for his first all-star nod this season.
All in all, this is a pretty solid draft, but that top-end talent helps to make up for its lack of depth.
