Portland Trail Blazers: Kevin Love
I know, everyone who discusses potential Love trades always brings up Portland. It’s certainly not a unique idea, but there is a reason that everyone links Love to the Blazers – it makes sense for both of them.
I give the Blazers a lot of credit for not blowing it up in years past when there were certainly people advocating for it, but I think this is their last best opportunity to max out the Lillard/McCollum era.
This year might be a wash already with all of the injuries, but bringing in Love makes them an exciting team for next year. They’d bring back Lillard, McCollum, Love, Jusuf Nurkic, Zach Collins, and Anfernee Simons. Not a bad core, and if they could add some cheap wing defenders in free agency they all of a sudden become a real contender again out West.
Sacramento Kings: Health
Knock on wood, but it seems like the Sacramento Kings‘ health is finally starting to turn around. After a really promising season a year ago it’s been disappointing to see them have to play a majority of their games without De’Aaron Fox and Marvin Bagley III, but all things considered, they’ve actually held up really well.
They’re still slotted in as the 8th seed as of this writing and now have Fox and Bagley back in the lineup. They were one of the most exciting teams in the league to watch last year when they had all of their weapons so I’d expect them to have a big December/January assuming they can keep these guys healthy.
