Milwaukee Bucks: A fast forward button
The Milwaukee Bucks are the best team in the Eastern Conference and have perhaps the league’s best player in Giannis Antetokounmpo. I give them a lot of credit for how focused they’ve been so far in the regular season, but they have much bigger goals than a high regular-season win total.
After being a couple plays away from taking a 3-0 series lead over the Raptors in last year’s Eastern Conference Finals only to lose the game and the series, the Bucks have to be eager to get back on that stage for some redemption. They’ll have that chance, but it can’t come soon enough for Giannis and the rest of the crew.
Minnesota Timberwolves: The truth
I’m not talking about Paul Pierce, although he might be able to help them right now. I mean the truth about Andrew Wiggins, aka: is this real?
The Wolves started out hot but have hit a rough patch as losers of 10-straight games as of this writing. But if there has been a bright spot it’s that Andrew Wiggins has been terrific. Karl-Anthony Towns is having an All-NBA caliber season but we always knew he was capable of that. What we didn’t know, was whether or not Wiggins would ever be capable of this but he is doing his best to put those doubts to bed.
The season likely isn’t going to end the way they’d hoped, but a Wiggins breakout season is definitely something they can build on. Better late than never, right?
