The Blazers signing Mario Hezonja

Anyone who has followed Hezonja’s NBA career these past four years has to admit that he has been a huge disappointment for a 5th pick (Like Dante Exum, one can’t forget those Kobe Bryant comparisons coming out of Europe).

For a struggling Blazers team that has needed to address the small forward position for years – an issue more apparent now than ever with Hood injured – that two-year deal isn’t looking too good right now even if it is for the minimum.

Henzonja has a player option on that second year, but if he chooses to opt-in, then the Blazers can use him as a throw-in with another trade partner – since it would be an expiring deal – or they can hold out hope that he finally becomes somewhat of a valuable role player off the bench.
