Bradley Beal choosing to re-sign with the Wizards

Maybe Beal wants to recruit and build his own winning team or he just simply doesn’t believe in forming superteams and has an old school mentality, similar to Damian Lillard, but the reality is that this Wizards front office really hasn’t provided him and Wall with enough talent to succeed.

Leonsis was able to shed some salary (Trading away Otto Porter and Markieff Morris) last season to slightly improve their financial flexibility going forward, but they are still stuck with Wall’s enormous contract that no other team will touch by virtue of the enormous concerns surrounding his ruptured Achilles.

Currently, Wall is rehabbing and is likely going to miss this entire 2019-2020 season, so when he comes back next season, he will be a couple of months shy from turning 30.  For a player who never had a great jump shot to begin with and relies on his speed and athleticism, there has to be at least some level of concern.

While appearing as a guest on CBS Sports Radio during the summer, Gilbert Arenas made a very interesting point on why he believed Wall would be able to return to his pre-injured form, and while only time will tell if his prophecy is actually correct, the fact of the matter is that Beal is only 26 and still has plenty of basketball left in him.

If your depending on the Wizards organization to provide you with a chance of winning a championship, then history has shown you’re bound to be disappointed.
