San Antonio Spurs: Blow it up

Unfortunately, the New Year’s resolution for the San Antonio Spurs is pretty simple. It’s also a tough pill to swallow, especially considering what this team has been over the last two decades under Gregg Popovich. Despite all the success that Pop and the Spurs had together, it’s time to blow it all up.

And if Pop doesn’t want to be around for another long rebuild, he might have to retire too. The Spurs are going nowhere fast, and this is the best path for the franchise moving forward. Get what you can for DeMar DeRozan and LaMarcus Aldridge in the trade market, and start all over.

Toronto Raptors: Add a wing scorer before the trade deadline

Due to the explosion of Pascal Siakam over the last few months, I firmly believe that the Toronto Raptors, if they make the right moves ahead of the NBA Trade Deadline, could emerge as a real threat in the Eastern Conference. They’re a pretty deep team and could be one move away from making another deep playoff run.

Adding a wing scorer could make all the difference for a team that sorely misses Kawhi Leonard. And while they won’t replace him that easily, trading for a veteran wing scorer could help make this team more dangerous come playoff time.
