Utah Jazz: Becoming a true Western Conference threat
Over the last couple of seasons, many have pointed at the Utah Jazz as a potential Western Conference dark horse. And while they truly disappointed last season, in which they lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Rockets, the goal for the Jazz in 2020 is to change that.
Instead of “potentially being a dark horse” the Jazz needs to become a household name in the West. And a big part of that is the continued development of Donovan Mitchell. The Jazz will go as far as he does, and there’s still some room for both Mitchell and the team to grow.
Washington Wizards: Return to prominence in 2020
For the majority of 2019, the Washington Wizards were viewed as a joke. Whether it was because the team gave John Wall and absurd contract, or the fact that they continued to fall short of expectations, the Wizards haven’t been the same since falling one game short of an Eastern Conference Finals appearence a couple years ago.
Nevertheless, in 2020, the Wizards need to recover. Perhaps that will happen when a healthy Wall returns next season, or if Bradley Beal continues to develop into a legit superstar. No matter how it happens, the Wizards need to make a return this upcoming year.
