Brooklyn Nets: Figure out how to successfully incorporate a healthy Kyrie Irving
Over the past three years, there has been a growing sentiment (with some evidence) that teams are better when Kyrie Irving is not on the floor. However, with the talent that Kyrie represents that can’t be the case. Especially when you figure that the Brooklyn Nets are locked in with Kyrie for the next three years.
The Nets need to find a way to make it all work (with Kyrie), especially if they have any plans on making the playoffs this season. If they can’t make it work with just Kyrie, I’m not sure how this team is going to look when Kevin Durant comes back.
Charlotte Hornets: Don’t give out any terrible contracts during the summer
The Charlotte Hornets have been a pleasant surprise this season. But it’s not because of their acquisition of Terry Rozier. While he has been fairly good this season, the bigger reason why the Hornets have been better than expected has been the emergence of Devonte’ Graham.
Graham has developed into the team’s leading scorer and is driving this team towards a potential playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. What the Hornets can’t mess up with is giving out another bad contract. This team can’t fall into another Nicolas Batum situation this summer.
