Dallas Mavericks: Find the third piece to catapult themselves into a real contender in the West

The Dallas Mavericks have two really good pieces in Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis. There’s no debate on whether those are two really good starting pieces. However, if the Mavs are going to truly compete with the other top teams in the West, they’re going to need a third piece to help elevate this team’s ceiling.

One player to keep an eye on is Jrue Holiday, who is reportedly on the trade block. If the Mavs could find a way to land him, Dallas would immediately evolve into a real dark horse in the West.

Denver Nuggets: Find a veteran star to put them over the top

The Denver Nuggets have consistently been one of the best teams in the NBA over the last two seasons. Though, they were somewhat disappointing in the playoffs last season in which they fell in the second round to the Trail Blazers. The Nuggets need another veteran to help in potential playoff series against the likes of the Lakers and Clippers.

Denver has been a great regular-season team over the last seasons; they need to prove they can be more than that when it matters most. Adding another veteran presence could help in doing so.
