NBA Trade Rumors: Detroit Pistons looking to move Andre Drummond?

NBA Trade Rumors: The Detroit Pistons are reportedly looking to trade Andre Drummond ahead of the trade deadline, and the Atlanta Hawks are among the teams interested

Andre Drummond can test the free-agent market this summer and with the way the Detroit Pistons have underwhelmed so far this season, it’s looking more and more likely that Drummond’s days in a Pistons uniform are numbered – whether it’s his decision or Detroit’s.

According to a recent report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, it appears the Pistons are ready to embrace being sellers ahead of the NBA Trade Deadline.

Per the report, the Pistons and Atlanta Hawks are engaged in trade discussions centered around Andre Drummond. He also states that nothing is imminent, however.

This, of course, is likely just the beginning. There are bound to be many teams interested in Drummond’s services if the Pistons are indeed looking to move the big man ahead of the NBA Trade Deadline next month.

Drummond is putting together arguably the best season of his career thus far. While the Pistons have been quite disappointing this year, Drummond is averaging nearly 18 points, 16 rebounds, three assists and two blocks per game.

He’s been one of the lone bright spots for the Pistons this season in an otherwise underwhelming start to the year. Even though Drummond is essentially in the final year of his contract, there’s a good chance that the Pistons could get a decent package in return – especially if teams bidding for his services consider this as a long-term move, in the event that they plan on re-signing him during the summer.

Drummond is not the first big-name to arise in the trade rumor mill as the trade deadline quickly approaches. Kevin Love and Jrue Holiday are two other big names that have seen their name arise in the rumor mill in the last few weeks.

However, this name is somewhat the most surprising. If Andre Drummond is indeed on the open market, this year’s trade market could be that much more interesting.
