Oklahoma City Thunder

Ok, there is no way I saw this coming. I didn’t think we’d be living in a world where the post-Westbrook Oklahoma City Thunder would be fun to watch. I expected Chris Paul to have been traded by now. Along with maybe even Steven Adams and Danilo Gallinari.

I’m glad my expectations were wrong. Paul has seemingly embraced his time back in the city he began his NBA career in. The Thunder will often times run sets with three point guards: Paul, Dennis Schroder, and the second-year stud, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

SGA – the ace in the trade that sent Paul George to the Clippers over the summer – is one of the more exciting young players in the league. He’ll eventually settle in as a lead guard, but for now – sharing a team with Paul – SGA is working off the ball like a wing and jumping onto ball-handling duties from time to time.

I thought this season would be a bleak one for the Thunder and their fans. (You know, with the departure of their two franchise players.) There I go, wrong again. As of today, the Thunder sits in the seventh playoff spot in the West with a record of 20-15.

Things could come crashing down at any moment – especially if GM Sam Presti finally starts selling off on some of the veterans on the team.

Until then, make sure to tune in for CP3’s masterful work in the pick-and-roll, high-flying jams from Nerlens Noel, and silky smooth drives from Gigleous-Alexander. I promise it’ll be worth it.
