NBA Trade Rumors: Exploring three ideal trade destinations for Kevin Love as his relationship with the Cleveland Cavaliers continues to sour
All is not well in Cleveland.
A lot has changed for the Cleveland Cavaliers over the past decade. They have been through a rollercoaster starting with superstar forward LeBron James leaving his hometown team and taking his talents to South Beach. Watching from afar as LeBron captured two championships with the Big 3 in Miami. A gut-punch to fans of the Cavs.
With LeBron out of the picture, the Cavaliers were thrown into lottery hell, spending the next number of years in the lottery, with three out of four years bringing No. 1 draft picks to the franchise including Kyrie Irving, Anthony Bennett, and Andrew Wiggins.
Upon drafting Andrew Wiggins, rumors circulated that LeBron was considering a move back to his hometown. The rumors turned out to be true as LeBron decided that it was the right time to come back to Cleveland and bring the Larry O’Brien trophy back to a city that knows about heartache and despair when it comes to their sports teams.
Sure enough, LeBron, Kyrie, and Love were able to do just that and in one of the best comebacks in NBA history beat the historic Golden State Warriors in seven games to claim the Cavaliers’ first-ever NBA championship.
A lot has happened since that 1st championship banner was raised.
LeBron once again left Cleveland for the bright lights of Los Angeles but this time on good terms with the Cleveland faithful.
Kyrie moved to the Boston Celtics and has since made a move to the Brooklyn Nets to team up with All-NBA performer Kevin Durant.
While Irving and James have moved on, Kevin Love has remained. A superstar in his own right in Minnesota, Love filled in perfectly as the third star in the Cavaliers championship run. He is now the guy in Cleveland.
However, after this outburst, it might be time for both sides to part and the Cavaliers to rebuild the team through the draft.
