Miami Heat

Change needed: Turn expiring contracts into the final piece

The Heat has a lot of expensive expiring contracts such as Goran Dragic, James Johnson, Kelly Olynyk, Dion Waiters and Meyers Leonard. They should use a couple of these contracts to trade for the final piece that could make Miami a contender this year.

Milwaukee Bucks

Change needed: More rest for Giannis

The Bucks are really the only team in the NBA that doesn’t have a move to make. They don’t have any big expiring deals and they don’t have any glaring weaknesses. They are almost certainly going to get the number one seed in the East and they should use their five-game lead over the second-place Celtics to rest Giannis as much as possible in hopes of a long playoff push.

Minnesota Timberwolves

Change needed: A point guard

The Timberwolves have started Jeff Teague, Jarrett Culver, Shabazz Napier, and Andrew Wiggins, among others, at point guard this season. The Wolves need a veteran point guard who can run the offense and get Towns/Wiggins the ball when and where they need it. They should explore trades for guys such as DJ Augustin, Goran Dragic or Tomas Satoransky.

New Orleans Pelicans

Change needed: A healthy Zion

Zion seems as though he may be nearing a return but it still isn’t clear if he will come back or if he will just redshirt this season. The Pelicans essentially built this team around Zion and if he comes back I think we could see a completely different Pelicans team in 2020.

New York Knicks

Change needed: A new owner

Just sell the team.
