Carmelo Anthony, Portland Trail Blazers

After more than a year away from the game, Carmelo Anthony was picked up by the injury-riddled Portland Trail Blazers. The team had a glaring need at power forward, as Portland was splitting minutes between Anthony Tolliver and Mario Hezonja at the time.

Anthony has started each of the 22 games he’s played, and the team has improved since the signing. Part of this is due to Anthony, who has accepted his tertiary offensive role and is putting up 16/6 per game.

However, the inefficient shooting and sub-par defense that blemished his Hall of Fame legacy are still there. It will be interesting to see how Portland adjusts the lineup when Zach Collins returns, as Carmelo could excel as a sixth man.
