The Milwaukee Bucks are off to a historic start to the year, and it’s looking more and more like it could end with a championship
It has been 49 long years since the Milwaukee Bucks have lifted an NBA Championship banner. On that team, there is a couple of hall of fame players that you may have heard of. Two NBA legends that are amongst the greatest to ever play the game.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who some may argue, was at one time, “The Greatest” and Oscar Robertson, catapulted the Bucks team, in only the third year of existence, to an NBA title during the 1970-71 season. The point differential during that team’s regular season was a sky-high 12.3 points. Take note of that number.
This season, the Bucks have been somewhat reminiscent of that team. The Bucks are demoralizing opponents and look like one of the two best teams in the league at the moment. They’re 33-6, and currently own the best record in the league.

Even though they lost to a talented Philadelphia 76ers team on Christmas Day, they will have their chance at redemption with two matchups with them during the month of February. They also face-off against the Los Angeles Lakers, again, a team that they’ve already beaten once this season.
As it stands, however, the Bucks have a historic 12.2 point differential at this point in the season. To put that into context, the second-best point differential in the NBA is the Lakers, which are +8.2 on the year.
The Bucks aren’t just winning a ton of games, but are blowing teams out on most nights. If the Bucks continue on this pace, there’s no question they’re going to be a heavy favorite to come out of the Eastern Conference, and possibly to win it all no matter who they face off against in the NBA Finals.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is their do-it-all workhorse and hasn’t let the team down en route to possibly a second NBA MVP award. He’s playing like the best player in the world and the statistics back it up – Giannis is averaging 30 points, 13 rebounds, and six assists per game on 55 percent shooting from the field and 33 percent from 3-point range.
The Milwaukee Bucks are off to a historic start in 2019-20, and it could be capped off with an NBA Championship.
