Minnesota Timberwolves receives: Kyle Kuzma and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope

Los Angeles Lakers receives: Robert Covington and Jake Layman

The Los Angeles Lakers may have the best record in the Western Conference and could very well be cruising to homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs, but they need wing depth. This trade gives them an incredible amount of wing-depth.

Imagine a Lakers starting five that consists of LeBron James, Danny Green, Robert Covington, Anthony Davis, and JaVale McGee. Nobody is scoring on that team. Not to mention Jake Layman could be a solid shooter off the bench.

The Timberwolves, on the other hand, get another young player in Kyle Kuzma who could actually pair quite nicely with Wiggins and Towns. Maybe this could be a big three to build around? I wouldn’t bank on that but there is no harm in trying.
