NBA: Midterm reports for first-year head coaches
By John Nassif
Jim Boylen, Chicago Bulls
Losing the locker room seems to be a trend among these coaches. Jim Boylen’s authoritarian coaching style has led to friction throughout the roster. Yelling, screaming, and cussing may just lead to some defensive intensity.
But when you’re playing that game to a team of adults AND you aren’t winning, that is a fast track to heightened frustration throughout the organization. Similar to Taylor Jenkins, Jim Boylen will also have to develop his halftime adjustments as well.
This Bulls team is more talented than their record shows, and Boylen could do himself a lot of favors if they can make a late push for that 8th seed in the Eastern Conference.
