As the NBA’s pool of exciting, talented young players continue to grow, we try and predict what the 2025 All-NBA teams will look like

The NBA has a lot of amazing young players that have come into the league in the last couple of years. Not only that, but some of the league’s top stars right now haven’t even entered their prime.

The All-NBA teams this year are going to look a lot different than they did just five years ago and they are going to look even more different in five years’ time. A lot of the current rookies and sophomores in the NBA could be in the running for this honor if they keep improving, however, a lot could change in the next five years.

Obviously, we can’t account for guys who have yet to be drafted that may make their way onto an All-NBA team in their first five years. So this list is essentially impossible to perfectly predict. But with what we know about the current NBA landscape we can try and envision what the future may hold.

The no-brainers

There are a few players in this projection that seem pretty obvious. Including guys who were on it last year and will likely hold onto their spots for the foreseeable future. These include Giannis Antetokounmpo, Joel Embiid, and Nikola Jokic.

These three young international stars are positioned to be the face of the NBA for at least the next five years. The place on All-NBA teams is essentially theirs to lose.

The likely scenarios

Based on what we have seen from Luka Doncic this season I don’t think it is much of a reach to say he will be a mainstay on future All-NBA teams. He is primed to make his first appearance this year and will likely still be there five years from now.

In addition to Luka, Zion Williamson, Ben Simmons, Pascal Siakam, Karl-Anthony Towns and Jayson Tatum could all very likely be All-NBA regulars in the next couple of years.

While it may be a bit of a reach to put Zion and Simmons on the 2025 first team before they’ve even made their first All-NBA team, I don’t think this scenario is that unlikely.

The reaches

After Giannis, Embiid, Jokic, Luka, Zion, Simmons, Siakam, Towns and Tatum this became pretty difficult. It’s no guarantee that any of the remaining guys on this list will ever make even one All-NBA team, however, there is plenty of time for them to improve.

The remaining players include Donovan Mitchell, Ja Morant, Devin Booker, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jaylen Brown and Marvin Bagely. Perhaps the selection I feel least confident in is Marvin Bagely.

With that said, there appear to be a lot younger guards in contention for these spots than forwards and I personally am a big believer in Bagely if he is able to stay healthy. I think that of the other forwards that could potentially contend for this spot in the future, Bagely has the highest upside and the greatest amount of room for improvement.
