Brooklyn Nets – Waiting for KD

The Brooklyn Nets have one of the most promising futures in the NBA after signing the trio of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and DeAndre Jordan to an already deep and solid team last offseason. However, as far as immediate success goes the Nets have a lot of work to do. KD is expected to miss the entire 2019-20 season and Kyrie has just returned from a 26-game absence.

In the absence of their dynamic duo, players like fan-favorite Spencer Dinwiddie have excelled enough to keep the Nets relevant and Nets fans content for now. Brooklyn isn’t out of the woods yet as they remain a below .500 team just barely hanging onto the final playoff spot in the east. While there isn’t much worry for the Nets this season as they’re treating the year as preparation for KD’s return, the team has been underwhelming, to say the least.

Nets fans still aren’t completely accepting of Kyrie Irving as many openly prefer D’Angelo Russell who Brooklyn lost via sign-and-trade to the Golden State Warriors after Durant signed. It is going to be very interesting seeing how this team plays out with so much promise yet disappointing performance so far.
