The Houston Rockets were going through a rough stretch of basketball, but their last win will give their team more confidence

The Houston Rockets have lost five of their last seven games, but their most recent win over the Denver Nuggets – a 121-105 victory on Wednesday night – could prove to be a huge shot in the arm for the team moving forward.

Russell Westbrook led the way with 28 points, 16 rebounds, and eight assists to push his squad to a much-needed victory. Denver’s Paul Millsap, Jamal Murray, Gary Harris, and Michael Porter Jr, were all out Wednesday night, which made it tough for the Nuggets to score with the Rockets.

One reason why the Rockets were struggling to win was due to their shooting woes the past five games. Everybody knows that the Rockets are very analytical, and taking plenty of 3’s is part of their offense, but during the losing streak, it wasn’t working quite well.

The Rockets shot 29 percent from 3-point land during their four-game losing streak. On top of their inability to make shots, the Rockets didn’t get much help from their role players either. Guys like Danuel House Jr, PJ Tucker, and Eric Gordon were cold from 3-point territory and were struggling to make shots. If guys start finding their rhythm and play both sides of the ball, I believe the Rockets can turn their season around.

During the postgame presser on Wednesday night, both James Harden and Russell Westbrook had interesting thoughts about their win.

"“Obviously, they were missing a few of their players, but it was a confidence builder…We just tried to do all the right things. It was a good win for us,” James Harden said. He had also mentioned, that Russell Westbrook “does a good job of getting everyone involved, once he’s attacking the rim, everybody’s on alert.”"

Westbrook also noted that remaining positive throughout the team’s recent struggles is the key to bouncing back.

The Rockets will be playing their next four games on the road, so this will be a great opportunity to continue going in the right direction. As the team has fallen down the West standings, the Rockets need to string together a few victories now more than ever.
