New Orleans Pelicans: Takeaways from Zion Williamson’s debut
By Cody Larson
New Orleans is a MUST-watch team
Networks like ESPN have been mocked for their excessive inclusion of the Pelicans on their national TV schedule this year. Zion’s injury was obviously not pre-accounted for, and now that he is returned all of the mocking can now cease.
Because New Orleans is officially one of the league’s most can’t-miss teams. They should be the official sponsor of NBA League Pass at this point. Because after last night’s game, whenever Zion is on the floor, the entire world should be tuning in. If you have yet to delve up a strategy to watch every single Zion/Pelicans game this season, you better get to work; you likely won’t regret it.
Zion’s debut was quite honestly the best thing televised by the NBA this season. In a year filled with parity and trailblazing superstars, Zion stood above all the action in a crisp 18 minutes. That’s the ultimate takeaway from Wednesday’s game: despite not knowing exactly what it will entail, and for how long, Zion’s career will be one heck of a ride, just like his debut was last night.
