Denver Nuggets acquire Shabazz Napier, Keita Bates-Diop, Noah Vonleh, Gerald Green, and a first-round pick (from Minnesota via Houston)

On the surface, the Nuggets might not have any of the flashy names that were moved. And that’s OK. Denver is a team that didn’t need a huge addition. They’re a really good team that was looking to add some depth to the roster. They accomplished that by adding to their backcourt with Shabazz Napier and to their frontcourt with Keita Bates-Diop and Noah Vonleh.

Gerald Green won’t play this season, but he was more a filler anyway. Adding a first-round pick was a nice return on Malik Beasley too. Overall, this is likely not the only move the Nuggets will make ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline but it was a solid overall move that didn’t hurt its team while they landed another potential pick to throw in a much bigger deal.

You can’t really grade the Nuggets’ deadline on this deal alone, but this was all about Denver keeping their depth while adding a first-round pick. Denver accomplished that.
