Atlanta Hawks acquire Clint Capela and Nene

The Hawks landed one of the two big names in this four-team trade; Clint Capela (along with Nene) will make their way to the Hawks to play alongside the team’s dynamic duo of Trae Young and John Collins.

If there’s one gripe I have about what the Hawks did here is why they went all-in on Capela at the deadline when they could’ve easily filled their center hole in free agency (by targeting Andre Drummond) or trading for another center that would cost less than what they ended up giving up here.

Nevertheless, if the team feels like Capela was their guy good for them. They landed him and have him under contract for the next three years after this season. It’ll be interesting to see where the Hawks go from here and how they look during the second half of the season.

We can’t truly grade this team until we see how they look over the next couple of months.

Grade: B-
