Kenneth Faried
The last we saw Kenneth Faried in the NBA, his career was seemingly on the rise.
When he last wore his No. 35 with the Houston Rockets in 2019, Faried produced numbers close to what we saw during his best seasons with the Denver Nuggets. In 25 games before being let go by the team, Faried averaged 12.9 points and 8.2 rebounds (3.3 ORPG) per contest.
Since then, Faried spent a short nine-game period in the CBA in 2019 with the Zheziang Lions, after signing a one-year, $4.4 million contract with the team; a being cut shortly after arriving. It’s been a waiting game for Faried since then, but there are certainly NBA teams in of someone with his skill set.
Standing in 6-foot-8, the 30-year-old power forward plays the position rather traditionally. Faried does not have a reliable enough jump shot to spread the floor and force oppositions to guard him on the arc. Because of this, Faried’s game lies on the inside, attacking the paint and getting into the gritty areas under the basket to haul in rebounds.
This tenacity on the glass allows his game around the rim to come much easier. Faried shot an efficient 58.7 percent from the field with Houston, and still managed to earn his spot on the highlight reel.
With the NBA free agency market only getting thinner as the year continues, look for Faried to get some attention from any teams looking for an inside presence that can consistently convert in the paint.
