15. JaVale McGee, Los Angeles Lakers

A few years ago JaVale McGee was almost out of the league. The Shaqtin’ a Fool legend, who is known for making mistakes on the court was made out to be the clown of the NBA. When he signed with the Warriors in 2016, people were surprised by his standout play in limited minutes.

Although he averaged 6.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, and nearly one block per game in a limited role; his per 36 numbers were 23 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 3.3 blocks per contest. After two seasons in Golden State where he won two championships, he came to the Lakers. Last season he averaged 12 points, 7.5 rebounds, and two blocks per game in a bigger role.

This season he is averaging seven points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game while splitting minutes at the center spot with Dwight Howard. McGee’s long arms and athleticism have always made him a threat to block shots. Although he is playing fewer minutes this season he is still 12th in the NBA in blocks.
