2. Daniel Oturu, Minnesota

Daniel Oturu put up ridiculous numbers this season for the Gophers in his sophomore year, averaging 20.1 points and 11.3 boards. He doubled his points per game from last year while making himself a serious NBA draft prospect in the process. Standing at 6-foot-10 and 240 lbs, Oturu has outstanding length with a 7-foot-3 wingspan. He’s a very elite defender, collecting a ton of rebounds per game while also causing serious problems for opponents in his own end. Oturu’s defensive abilities alone make him an attractive player to scouts at the next level. He also collected 2.5 blocks per game, using his large frame to swat shots on the regular.

Offensively, he was unstoppable this season, finishing third amongst centers in scoring. Oturu is versatile when it comes to converting at the hoop as well, possessing the athleticism to dribble past opponents or simply rise above and finish aggressively. He’s also generated a decent long-range game, shooting 36 percent from downtown on 1.7 attempts per contest.

Overall, Oturu is a cant-miss prospect. His elite defensive traits paired with a very solid offensive game make him an exciting player to keep an eye on at the next level. Oturu should definitely be picked within the top ten of June’s draft.
