NBA Mock Draft: LaMelo Ball headlines a class of unknown prospects
3. Minnesota Timberwolves – James Wiseman, C, Memphis
We are knee-deep in positionless basketball and at this point in the NBA Draft, a team like Minnesota Timberwolves should be taking the best player available. And right now, that just happens to be James Wiseman, who has impressive potential. Many projected him to be the top overall player in this draft class, but after being ruled ineligible for much of this past basketball season, he never got to prove that potential (with the exception of a few games).
The Wolves would be getting good value by taking Wiseman at No. 3, and a running mate along the frontcourt for Karl-Anthony Towns.
4. Atlanta Hawks – LaMelo Ball, G, Illawarra
Perhaps this might not be the perfect match for the Atlanta Hawks here at No. 4, but they’d be taking potentially the best player in this draft and perhaps one of the biggest unknowns as well. LaMelo Ball has good enough size to play either guard position and has shown the ability to be an electrifying scorer.
Plus, who wouldn’t want to see a Trae Young and LaMelo Ball backcourt?
