Kevin McHale, power forward

This was another choice that did not come easily. I gave serious consideration to Kevin Garnett, but only because of his tenure with the team, I gave the spot to McHale.

McHale began his career in 1980 primarily as a bench player contributing minutes at power forward and center for Boston. He won the NBA sixth man award for two consecutive seasons from 1983-85. Throughout his career, he was a force to be reckoned with especially in the low post where he displayed a wide variety of moves

In 971 regular season games McHale averaged 17.9 points and 7.3 rebounds and in 169 postseason games averaged 18.8 points and 7.4 rebounds. He played in seven NBA All-Star Games. He was also selected to the NBA All-Defensive First or Second-Team six times.

A 1999 Hall of Fame selection, McHale led the Celtics to five NBA Finals appearances and three NBA championships in the 1980s.
