Predicting five big names that will likely be on the move, either via trade or through free agency, during the 2020 NBA offseason

Hopefully, the NBA will be back in business sooner rather than later. In fact, we’ll take meaningful basketball back at any point during the summer. Nevertheless, the fact remains that there’s at least a small chance that the 2019-20 season won’t be resumed due to concerns surrounding COVID-19.

No matter what happens, we will still be in for a potentially crazy NBA offseason. Not only will this be uncharted territory for teams as they approach the 2020 NBA Draft, especially if there are no pre-draft workouts, but also for teams as they head into the free agency period.

How will post-trade-deadline teams evaluate their teams without having a true second-half of the season or playoff push, should the NBA decided to cancel the remainder of the 2019-20 season and restart play in 2020-21?

Take a team like the Miami Heat. They made a pretty big move at the trade deadline, in landing Andre Iguodala and Jae Crowder, for the sole purpose of the playoffs. Without a postseason, it would be difficult for the team to evaluate a free agent like Crowder.

That could be a case for a number of other teams as well.

However, tough decisions will need to be made. And it’s not just the teams that need to make such decisions. It’s also the players. Keeping that same conversation, let’s take a look at five big-name players that could be on the move during the 2020 offseason. And, if the 2019-20 season is not resumed, also five players that have might’ve played their final game with their current NBA teams.
