Danilo Gallinari, Oklahoma City Thunder
Heading into the offseason, Danilo Gallinari will be an unrestricted free agent and he will likely be one of the most sought after players on the open market. Galo is coming off one of the best seasons of his career – averaging 19 points and six rebounds on 44 percent shooting from the field and 41 percent from 3-point range – and is still only 31 years old.
As the 3-point evolution in the NBA continues, Galo’s skill set in today’s game is only becoming much more valuable. Part of the reason why he wasn’t traded at the trade deadline was that he wanted to test free agency this summer and didn’t want to accept a one-year contract extension.
This is a huge summer for him too, considering that this will likely be one of the last big paydays of his career. Even if he wants to remain with the Oklahoma City Thunder, he needs to do what he can to get every dollar that he deserves.
Generally, that means there’s a good chance he’s played his last game with the Thunder (if the NBA does indeed cancel the remainder of the 2019-20 season).
