Pelicans lose crucial Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson minutes

Fresh off the return of Zion Williamson, the New Orleans Pelicans could use every bit of a sample size for the Brandon Ingram and Zion combination that they can get. Even more so considering that Ingram is slated to be a restricted free agent this summer and it’s imperative for the Pelicans to make a decision on his future.

Should the remainder of the season be canceled, that means the Pelicans will have to decide whether to pay Ingram that big money without fully knowing for sure if he’s a good fit next to Zion. While the early returns were good, they’ve only played 341 minutes together this season.

The good thing is that even if they realize that Ingram and Zion might not be a good pairing in the future, they should be able to move Ingram without much difficulty. However, it’d be so much easier if the Pelicans had a few more regular-season games (and potentially a few playoff games) of a sample size for the duo.
