LeBron James loses a great shot at winning another title

You could make an argument for both LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers as big losers should the remainder of the 2019-20 NBA season get canceled. For one, this season was going to be the return of the Lakers to the playoffs (first time in six years) and likely their first deep postseason run for the first time in a decade.

Secondly, after the addition of Anthony Davis, this was going to be LeBron James’ first real shot at winning another championship for the first time since 2016. Considering that he’s 35 years old, LeBron isn’t in a position where he can just be throwing away golden opportunities like he has this season.

Who knows what the landscape of the Western Conference or NBA is going to look like next season. Those aren’t things you can take for granted. LeBron has a real shot of winning another championship this season, and it would be a shame if he didn’t get a chance to come through in the postseason.
