There is no need to worry. Everything you’ve pondered or worried about how the 2019-20 NBA season would have played out if COVID-19 never reared its ugly head will now be addressed courtesy of NBA 2K.

This still doesn’t feel normal. We are approaching the three-week mark of no NBA basketball, or sports for that matter. Those of you reading who have been fortunate enough to avoid the immediate impact of COVID-19 are left with massive, basketball-sized gaps in your life.

The other day I tried arguing that Tyler Hansbrough could have been a perfect small-ball five in today’s NBA…it’s gotten that bad. We try filling that void with a myriad of unanswerable questions, hypothetical situations, and the monotonous GOAT debates.

However, there are looming questions that are more tangible; who wins the Rookie of the Year Race? How do the playoff matchups shake out? Can LeBron James catch Giannis Antetokounmpo for the MVP? Could the Toronto Raptors possibly repeat as champions? Depending on how the coming months unfold, we may or may not get concrete answers to these questions.

Do not worry, though, by simulating the remainder of the season on NBA 2K, you will receive the answers and reconnection to basketball you crave so desperately.

First, some ground rules:

  • The simulation begins on March 11th, otherwise known as Doomsday in NBA communities.
  • Standings are up to date as of March 11th. If you need a refresher, google them, they haven’t
    changed.
  • Injuries are “on.” Some teams may get bitten by the injury bug in this simulation.
  • No Touching of the hair or face…and that’s it!
