Who will be the team’s head coach?

Mike Miller was named Knicks interim head coach after Fizdale was let go in December, and since the team made the move the team has been “better.” Since the move, the Knicks were 17-27. Even though it was not a great record, it would rank the team as only the 10th worst record in the NBA since the coaching change.

Again, not great. But it was still better than the 4-18 start that the team got off to under Fizdale. With that said, not all the blame could be placed on Fizdale either. But that’s just how the business works. The blame, more often than not, gets dumped on the head coach.

Nevertheless, what will the team do at head coach? Will they remove the interim tag and give Miller a shot at coaching the team next season? Will they try and bring in a more experienced head coach, perhaps such as Mark Jackson (who is bound to get another opportunity sooner or later), the recently-fired Kenny Atkinson (who he even be interested in the Knicks job?), or perhaps another seasoned candidate that we’re clearly discounting?

This will almost certainly be the first move that new President Leon Rose will have to make once the offseason arrives. And it could set the tone for the remainder of the offseason.
