Washington Wizards: Grading every player’s 2019-20 season
Bradley Beal: B+
The Wizards fan base as a whole might kill me for this but I had to give Bradley Beal a “B+” here. You might ask how a person averaging 30-plus, who might make an All-NBA team, doesn’t get an A+ grade. But I think even Beal himself would agree that he was not at his apex for a large part of this season.
Beal was clearly trending up and on an absolute tear before the shutdown. However, it’s hard to ignore the icy 3-point shooting earlier in the season and the seemingly apathetic approach toward defense. That being said, he didn’t have a lot of help for long stretches of the season, he mostly said all of the right things, and guys should always get credit for not taking the easy way out by asking for a trade.
If Bradley Beal had been able to continue at the torrid pace he was going for the rest of the regular season, this grade clearly would have improved. Hopefully, the season will continue in one form or fashion.
