Cleveland Cavaliers
What to do with Andre Drummond?
At the NBA Trade Deadline, the Cleveland Cavaliers made the curious decision to trade for Andre Drummond. With Kevin Love already on the roster, I’m afraid the Cavs might have just added another possible trade piece that they probably won’t be able to get fair value for on the trade market if their master plan was to buy low and then sell high later on Drummond.
If nothing else, the Cavs have two interesting trade pieces I suppose. However, to make matters worse, Drummond could opt out of the final year of his contract and hit the free-agent market this summer. If he elects to do so, in search of more security, what should Cleveland do? Did they get enough of a sample size to gauge what they have in Drummond?
That’s highly likely, considering Drummond only played in eight games for the Cavs. However, you’d have to think or believe that the Cavs had a plan before all this came to fruition. Then again, they are the Cavs so you never know.
