13. New Orleans Pelicans: Nico Mannion, G, Arizona
The New Orleans Pelicans will be heading into an interesting offseason. Not only do they have a decision to make on Brandon Ingram, but they will have the luxury of a full offseason with Zion Williamson. Nico Mannion could be part of that offseason as well, as he’s taken the by the Pelicans with the No. 13 pick.
Mannion is an interesting prospect, coming off a season in which he averaged 14 points and five assists per game. He could work on his shooting numbers, but that will come with reps at the NBA level and under NBA trainers. In the event that the Pelicans decide to move on from some of their backcourt players (Jrue Holiday, JJ Redick) adding some backcourt help would be smart.
Mannion isn’t likely a player that is going to start or be a primary rotation player immediately, but he’s certainly an interesting prospect that the Pelicans could add to their young core.
