3. Denver Nuggets (43-22)
Grade: B
The Nuggets are one of the deepest teams in the NBA. They have players on their bench who can fill into their starting lineup and they would not miss a beat while being coached by a good head coach in Mike Malone. Currently sitting at 3rd in the West, the Nuggets don’t quite scare anyone.
Nikola Jokic is a fine player and one of the best centers in the league. The skill he has for a big man is ridiculously good but at the end of the day, he is a center and the best player on a team in 2020. Centers in today’s day and age are not leading teams to championships and this Nuggets team will be no different.
The second-best player on the team is Jamal Murray and compared to other No. 2’s in the Western Conference, he does not quite match up. Going up against the likes of Russell Westbrook, Paul George, and Anthony Davis, he is clearly a tier below. With this being said, they have had a solid season up to this point.
They’ve been great at home as they always are in the Denver altitude and are consistent every year. They are a good team but lack of talent on the wing hinders them from being great.
