The trade: Draymond Green, Eric Paschall and GSW 2022 first-round pick for Rudy Gobert OR Andrew Wiggins, Eric Paschall and GSW 2020 and 2022 first-round picks for Rudy Gobert.
It is rare for two contenders to trade with one another, let alone trade former defensive players of the year for each other.
As Draymond Green’s athleticism wanes, it will be helpful to surround him with a spectacular athlete like Donovan Mitchell. It’s not like the Jazz doesn’t have excellent shooters on the wing, either.
Eric Paschall has shown himself to be a solid number two option on a scrub team, probably capable of being the fourth option on a contender, and his contract is to die for.
Joining the splash brothers would allow Gobert to get more dunks and offensive rebounds than ever before.
In another iteration of this trade, Gobert and Green could play alongside one another and the splash brothers, and Gobert would catch even more alley-oops. It all depends on how Utah thinks the rest of the league values Wiggins, who, in 12 games in the Bay Area, has posted the best PER of his career.
