Second-Team All-Underrated (frontcourt)
Small forward: Andrei Kirilenko (2001-15): 11.8 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 2.7 APG, 47.4 FG% – Utah Jazz, Minnesota Timberwolves, Brooklyn Nets
Achievements: One-time All-Star, three-time All-Defense, 2002 All-Rookie
Andrei Kirilenko, AK-47, was more known for his defense than anything else. He is the only non-center to lead the league in blocked shots and was the model of consistency for the Post-Karl Malone Utah Jazz teams. Much like many of the names on this list, there was not a whole lot of assistance on the teams he played for during his career which made his career under the radar.
Power forward: Antawn Jamison (1998-2014): 18.5 PPG, 7.5 RPG, 1.6 APG, 45.1 FG% – Golden State Warriors, Dallas Mavericks, Washington Wizards, Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers
Achievements: Two-time All-Star, one-time Sixth Man of the Year, 1999 All-Rookie
Jamison was a serviceable forward who averaged over 9.5 PPG for 14 out of his 15 years in the NBA. He also played second fiddle to Dirk Nowitzki, Gilbert Arenas, and LeBron James which put his numbers on the back burner of any team during his tenure in the league. He easily would fit perfectly in today’s NBA with his ability to defend the paint and shoot from the outside.
Center: Zydrunas Ilgauskas (1997-2011): 13.0 PPG, 7.3 RPG, 1.1 APG, 47.6 FG% – Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat
Achievements: Two-time All-Star, 1998 All-Rookie
Big Z fit the mold of the big-man era of the NBA. He was also a bright spot in pre-LeBron Cleveland. A typical back to the basket center, his game never really evolved, but he was a serviceable option on both ends of the floor which garnered him two all-star nods.
