NBA Rumors: 3 potential landing spots for DeMar DeRozan

The Utah Jazz could be an interesting landing spot for DeMar DeRozan. If he opts into the final year of his contract and helps facilitate a trade, the Jazz could be an option. Utah took a shot on Mike Conley last summer, which ultimately didn’t pay off, but they could take a similar chance on DeRozan.

Of course, a lot of this will depend on what Conley elects to do. He also has a player option for next season, but at a much larger number ($34 million). If Conley wants to move on, he could try to hit the open market and try to get an extended deal, securing some financial security for the next few years vs. just next season.

If so, it could open room for the Jazz to fit DeRozan into their cap sheet next season. Even though it didn’t work with Conley, with Rudy Gobert entering the final year on his contract with the team next season, the Jazz could go all-in on the season behind a DeRozan acquisition.

How else are the Jazz supposed to get better? This is the type of move that makes a lot of sense.
