NBA Draft Big Board: Anthony Edwards, LaMelo Ball sit atop the 2020 class
9. Isaac Okoro, F, Auburn
I struggled a bit with my 9 and 10 spots, and I’m sure I’ll flip flop between these two wings as we get closer to the draft, but for now, I’m going with Isaac Okoro. He’s a 6-foot-6, rock-solid wing that will do a little bit of everything. At first, I was apprehensive about Okoro because his outside shooting has been sub-par and his free throw percentage (67.4%) does not encourage much improvement.
But the more I dive into his game, the more I realize how important he was to this Auburn team. His passing, scoring in the paint, and defensive versatility have a great impact on the game at large and he will always be involved one way or another.
10. Devin Vassell, F, Florida State
Devin Vassell very well may jump ahead of Okoro in the future, but for now, I will leave him at 10. Vassell is a better shooter between the two, especially off the dribble. Vassell is a good athlete but lacks burst on-ball and may not pose a slashing threat to defenses. He is slightly undersized at 6’7 and 194 lbs but he works hard on both ends, a trait that I value and think really shows a lot about a player.
It is also noteworthy that Vassell has the ability to get his own shot and doesn’t necessarily need someone else to help him on offense.
