According to a recent report, there’s a chance that Kevin Knox has played his last game in a New York Knicks uniform.

From all indications, Adam Silver and the NBA is going to try to resume the 2019-20 season when it’s safe to do so. However, frankly, it’s looking more and more as if the regular season, at least, won’t be played out.

Even if the season does resume, it will likely only include the completion of the playoffs. Therefore, for teams like the New York Knicks, there’s a good chance that they won’t play again until the 2020-21 season.

The fallout to that, at least for the Knicks, is the fact that one of their new president, Leon Rose, hasn’t exactly gotten a chance to evaluate all of its players on the roster. One player in particular, according to a recent report, is Kevin Knox.

Per the New York Post, Rose doesn’t know what to make of Knox as a prospect and doesn’t know if he should be considered a key part of their future.

"According to a source, Rose still doesn’t know what to make of Knox and doesn’t know if the 20-year-old is part of their future."

The Knicks have to make a decision on Knox soon and, especially heading into the draft, it would be great if the team had a general idea of what to make of Knox. If they consider him a part of the future, it could help make their decision at the draft a whole lot easier.

If they know they have three key building blocks – RJ Barrett, Knox, and Mitchell Robinson – then the team could draft a player that would fit next to them. However, if the Knicks don’t have any indication, either way, it could make their entire draft process that much more difficult.

After a somewhat encouraging rookie season with the Knicks, in which he averaged 13 points and five rebounds per game, Knox struggled during his sophomore season heading into the league’s hiatus.

Knox was only averaging six points and three rebounds per game on 36 percent shooting from the field and 33 percent from 3-point range. Perhaps what was most concerning was the fact that he saw a 10 minutes per game reduction this season.

Knox was the team’s ninth overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft but has yet to separate himself into a defined role with the team. Question is, will Leon Rose and the New York Knicks give up on Kevin Knox this early? Will they give him another shot? Could they move him during the offseason? If so, that means that he might’ve played his last game in New York.
