Taking a closer look at three big things that stood out during episodes 1 and 2 of ESPN’s ‘The Last Dance’ documentary on the Chicago Bulls.

There was much hype surrounding the release of ESPN’s ‘The Last Dance’ and after the release of the first two episodes, it has lived up to it. The first episode focused on Michael Jordan‘s collegiate career and then his rookie season after being drafted by the Chicago Bulls.

The episode ends as the Bulls are tipping off the 1997-98 regular season. During the second episode, it starts off with Scottie Pippen taking center stage – from his early life to his rookie season in the league. It then proceeds to his injury that forced him to miss the start of the 1997-98 season, which triggered the team to really struggle out of the gate.

The episode then explains Jordan’s extreme competitiveness and how it was sparked at a young age and grew with his development as a basketball player. It leads to Jordan’s sophomore season injury and then his legendary performance during the first round of the playoffs against the Boston Celtics in 1986.
