Summary: The Indiana Pacers may not be a championship contender, but they are probably at the top of that second tier of Eastern Conference contenders. There’s no reason to change this roster drastically unless they get a big offer from another team that is willing to overpay for Myles Turner and/or Domantas Sabonis. Losing Justin Holiday hurts, but hopefully, they could develop Rondae Hollis-Jefferson much in the same way they maximized other wings like T.J. Warren, the previously mentioned Holiday, etc.
Marvin Williams is a solid veteran that brings exactly what they need from their back-up power forward. Denzel Valentine is another flier in hopes they could get him to become anywhere near the player he was coming out of college. Mostly the Pacers opt to take a tame approach to the off-season as they keep an eye on Victor Oladipo’s impact, if any, from his injury.
The hope is being Oladipo returns to pre-injury form and they retain him in the 2021 offseason, but the Pacers likely can’t find better talent through trade than the pieces they would be sending out. Their overall depth is solid and pending any health issues, they should be right in the middle of the pack in the Eastern Conference playoffs in 2020-21.
