Summary: The Los Angeles Lakers had a great run in the 2019-20 season until the playoff where they lost their cross-town rival LA Clippers. The Anthony Davis and LeBron James duo flourished and as a result, most of the players are brought back to continue that great run in their LeBron James window.
They have plenty of big man depth between veterans JaVale McGee and Dwight Howard (both re-signed), but Vernon Carey gives them a more youthful option in the draft. Co-star Anthony Davis is brought back at his full MAX which should be an easy decision for the Lakers to make. They should look to see what they could get for Kyle Kuzma, but there likely isn’t a player better than him that would return in such a deal without adding extra pieces.
One of the biggest changes is adding Jordan Clarkson who used to be in Los Angeles with the Lakers to provide playmaking ability off the bench at guard. Bringing back mostly the same roster as 2019-20 plus Jordan Clarkson and Vernon Carey is solid.
