Summary: The Sacramento Kings make yet another coaching change by replacing Luke Walton with Brett Brown after seeing where Brown developed a young 76ers core in Philadelphia into a perennial playoff team. In the draft, the Kings take the best player available with RJ Hampton and Jalen Smith with the pick they trade for Nemanja Bjelica.

Bjelica is set to hit unrestricted free agency next summer so they opt to re-set the contract by getting a rookie deal. They bring back Bogdan Bogdanovic which should likely see them explore the trade market for Buddy Hield at the trade deadline.

Serge Ibaka who is quoted as saying he plans to stay in Toronto couldn’t pass up the chance to get a multi-year contract and should be a solid fit with the Kings roster.

The biggest hope for the Kings is that Marvin Bagley III continues to progress and is not a sunk cost, but they should be able to make some follow-up moves in the season after seeing what their young players look like under Brett Brown after the season starts.
