Exploring three of the biggest questions that the Portland Trail Blazers will have to answer this offseason after missing the playoffs in 2019-20.
Considering the 2019-20 NBA season as a whole, assuming there’s a good chance that even if the 2019-20 campaign is resumed it won’t finish the last few games of the regular season, the Portland Trail Blazers will officially miss the playoffs for the first time in seven years and just the second time since Damian Lillard was drafted in 2012.
What makes this season even more disappointing – and puzzling – is the fact that the Blazers were coming off a trip to the Western Conference Finals a year ago. To go from a trip to the conference finals to completely miss the playoffs the next season, with essentially the same team (even with a few rotational additions), is extremely disappointing.
Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum are in the middle of their primes and are on the verge of sitting on a lost season. Portland, as a whole, has some big questions to answer this offseason. What lies ahead for the Blazers, for a team that has potentially already hit their ceiling?
