Earth Day has grown in popularity over the past decade. Russell Westbrook and a few other NBA players and influencers celebrated accordingly.

The NBA and its players do their part to help maintain and restore the environment, such as Russell Westbrook who got in an intense outdoor workout on Earth Day. Some do more than others.

Take the Sacramento Kings for example; they are a highly criticized franchise (rightfully so) however, their arena, the Golden 1 Center is one of the greenest venues in the NBA, as the home of the Kings boasts a LEED platinum rating and became the first fully solar-powered sports venue in the world. Pretty impressive for Kings’ standards.

Green week has long been a staple in the association, and it’s much more than all 30 teams wearing special warmups. It serves as a seven-day showcase of the league displaying its efforts of practicing conservation:

Some individuals are far too caught up exercising these days, while others probably have not taken advantage of the opportunity to get in a single workout during quarantine. Whereas many are somewhere in the middle of the spectrum. Just like Kaavia James in the above clip. Her mindset in the above clip is a reminder that children are refreshing, and we can all learn a lot from them right now.

As the uncertainty looms as cities begin their path to reopening, please continue practicing all the same habits built during quarantine because it will save your life or the life of someone you love and there is no note higher than that!
