Phil was exactly what the Bulls needed

History tells us that Phil Jackson was exactly what the Chicago Bulls needed to reach its potential. They didn’t start winning championships until he became the head coach and the impact he had on the players was very much evident in episode four of the documentary.

Just by hearing them talk about Phil, you can see how much Dennis Rodman, Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and the rest of the Bulls respected him. It’s unique for a coach to have the ability to connect with each of his players, and was a big reason why he was so successful in the NBA.

Together win Tex Winter, Phil helped create the unstoppable force that the Bulls were during the 1990s. Interestingly, Jordan says in the documentary that he wasn’t a big fan of Phil when he first took the job.

Jackson and Winter helped implement the Triangle Offense which helped create a more team-oriented offense. In the end, it helped raise the ceiling for this team.
